Have You Learned to Love

I was lookin’ for love in all the wrong places.
Lookin’ for love in too many faces.
Searchin’ their eyes
Lookin’ for traces of what I’m dreaming of.
Hoping to find a friend and a lover
I’ll bless the day I discover
Another heart lookin’ for love

I know the above lyrics are from a secular song but where are you looking for love? Are you looking for love in all the wrong places or are you looking to God to fill your love tank? When we look to God to fill our love tanks then we discover who were are because only God can love us fully the way we were originally intended to be loved.

The words of another song come to mind when we learn how to allow God to love us fully as He originally wanted…. Look in my heart and let love keep us together. When we look into the heart and eyes of God we see the deep affectionate love He has for us and it draws us into a love relationship with Him that is so amazing.

Jesus’s command to us is that we are to love Him and to love each other. When we enter that love relationship with Him and allow His love to fill us it becomes easier to love ourselves and to love others.

Jesus answered him the most important of all the commandments is this: The Lord Yahweh, our God, is one! You are to love the Lord Yahweh your God, with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, with every thought that is within you, and with all your strength. This is the great and supreme commandment. And the second is this: You must love your neighbor in the same way you love yourself. You will never find a greater commandment than these. Mark 12:29-31 TPT

1 Corinthians 13 shows us exactly what love is or is not so when you are finding it difficult to love the one in front of you pray and ask God for His help and His light to shine on those areas of your heart so that you can walk in a greater amount of His love towards others.

Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek it own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. Love is a safe place of shelter for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up. Love never stops loving. 1 Cor 13: 4-8a TPT

I have attached two different videos today. The first is an interview Bob Jones, the Prophet gave awhile back. In the early 70’s He died and went to heaven and the attached video is some of what Bob saw while he was there. I find it very interesting that back in the garden God created us to be in a love relationship with Him and to get into Heaven we will be asked “have you learned to love?”

Learn to love today!!! Learn to love the one who first loved you first, allow His love to wash over you and change you so you can begin to show His love everywhere you go to everyone you encounter.

The second video is Your Love is Extravagant. God’s love is very extravagant and He lavishes it on us. The definition of Extravagant is as follows: Spending much more than is necessary or wise; excessively high; exceeding the bounds of reason, as actions, demands, opinions, or passions; going beyond was is deserved or justifiable. Just receive the extravagant love of God today, let it wash over you and fill you to overflowing until it flows out of you to reach the community around you. Are you not so glad that God’s love is exceedingly extravagant? He always loves us excessively outside the bounds of reason. Tell God you love Him today and taste and see how good that love is!!!
