Fully Accepted

The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. And you did not receive the spirit of religious duty, leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the Spirit of full acceptance, enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved Child!” And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own. Rom 8:14-17 TPT

I feel I may be regressing back but to be honest I have struggled a lot lately with old mindsets of not being good enough, not measuring up, rejection, and abandonment. I know that none of these mindsets are from God or even who He says that I am but as I pursued God these things came at me with a vengeance causing me to pull back at times from others. I also know that I am not alone in my struggles with this. Your attack may look different from mine but we all face junk from our past that wants to come back and hold us down to prevent us from the life Jesus died to give us.

Recently as I was struggling with never feeling like I measured up God lead me to the above scripture. I absolutely love the word of God because it speaks truth and life at all times especially when you need it the most. The lie of never being good enough speaks of performance and we do not need to perform in order for God to accept us and love us. We just need to be, be yourself and be with Him. As we draw closer and closer in a more deeper and intimate relationship with the one we love we will begin to change from the inside out. That is the only way we can ever change and become more and more like Him.

The negative mindset of not being good enough, rejection, abandonment, and other things can cause you to feel separated from God and others but the truth is God never leaves you alone and He never rejects you. Even when you are feeling down and out just begin to praise Jesus for who He is. Trust me when you do your attitude and mindset will begin to shift.

As I type this a phrase from a song I cannot recall the title to keeps coming to mind: “don’t give up, don’t give in, we win, we win!!!  When you are a lover of God you win.  We do not have to choose the mindset that says we are not enough, this my friends lines up with an orphan spirit and we are no longer orphans we are beloved children of the most high God.  Be aware of what you are thinking and begin to change your thoughts and actions to ones that line up with the truth of who God says you are.  I love and hate the verse in James that says to count it all joy when you face trials and tribulations.  I know joy is not what we feel but it is what we can choose to feel.  Jesus loves you and is for you.

My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things. James 1:2-3 TPT

Thank you for allow me to digress.  I am praying that the truth of God’s word completly set you free!  You are no longer slaves, you are no longer orphans but you are beloved children of God.  Begin to act and think like His children as you delight in loving HIm and knowing Him more.

Now we’re no longer living like slaves under the law, but we enjoy being God’s very own sons and daughters!  And because we’re his, we can access everything our Father has – for we are heirs of God through Jesus, the Messiah! Galatians 4:7 TPT.

Have You Learned to Love

I was lookin’ for love in all the wrong places.
Lookin’ for love in too many faces.
Searchin’ their eyes
Lookin’ for traces of what I’m dreaming of.
Hoping to find a friend and a lover
I’ll bless the day I discover
Another heart lookin’ for love

I know the above lyrics are from a secular song but where are you looking for love? Are you looking for love in all the wrong places or are you looking to God to fill your love tank? When we look to God to fill our love tanks then we discover who were are because only God can love us fully the way we were originally intended to be loved.

The words of another song come to mind when we learn how to allow God to love us fully as He originally wanted…. Look in my heart and let love keep us together. When we look into the heart and eyes of God we see the deep affectionate love He has for us and it draws us into a love relationship with Him that is so amazing.

Jesus’s command to us is that we are to love Him and to love each other. When we enter that love relationship with Him and allow His love to fill us it becomes easier to love ourselves and to love others.

Jesus answered him the most important of all the commandments is this: The Lord Yahweh, our God, is one! You are to love the Lord Yahweh your God, with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, with every thought that is within you, and with all your strength. This is the great and supreme commandment. And the second is this: You must love your neighbor in the same way you love yourself. You will never find a greater commandment than these. Mark 12:29-31 TPT

1 Corinthians 13 shows us exactly what love is or is not so when you are finding it difficult to love the one in front of you pray and ask God for His help and His light to shine on those areas of your heart so that you can walk in a greater amount of His love towards others.

Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek it own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. Love is a safe place of shelter for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up. Love never stops loving. 1 Cor 13: 4-8a TPT

I have attached two different videos today. The first is an interview Bob Jones, the Prophet gave awhile back. In the early 70’s He died and went to heaven and the attached video is some of what Bob saw while he was there. I find it very interesting that back in the garden God created us to be in a love relationship with Him and to get into Heaven we will be asked “have you learned to love?”

Learn to love today!!! Learn to love the one who first loved you first, allow His love to wash over you and change you so you can begin to show His love everywhere you go to everyone you encounter.

The second video is Your Love is Extravagant. God’s love is very extravagant and He lavishes it on us. The definition of Extravagant is as follows: Spending much more than is necessary or wise; excessively high; exceeding the bounds of reason, as actions, demands, opinions, or passions; going beyond was is deserved or justifiable. Just receive the extravagant love of God today, let it wash over you and fill you to overflowing until it flows out of you to reach the community around you. Are you not so glad that God’s love is exceedingly extravagant? He always loves us excessively outside the bounds of reason. Tell God you love Him today and taste and see how good that love is!!!

Defender

Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

One of the aspects of God is that He is our defender. In the midst of the trials and storms we don’t have to get into worry or fear we just have to be still and trust God. I know sometimes it is hard to see what He is doing and sometimes we may even think we know a better solution but I also know that when we wait on God His ways are always the best.

I have experienced many trials and tribulations in my short live but it was only when things got the darkest and I knew that only God could turn the situation around did I fully learn how to rest and be still in Him. The emotional pain of the trial was very real but I continued to press into more of Him. I learned how to just be with Him and not worry about everything going on around me. If I was struggling with something I would just tell Jesus and then tell Him I knew He was bigger than whatever I was facing and needed His help to get through.

Gradually the emotional pain lessened, the offense and bitterness disappeared and I learned to just be with God, to dwell with Him, to praise Him and worship Him. During those intimate times God was so good to draw near to me too. He provided me with such amazing visions of us together and wonderful promises of all He had in store for me. Gradually too my focus began to shift from the trial onto all that God was and is.

As I continue to focus on being intimate with the one who has called me His own I wanted always put my focus on all that He is. One day recently I began writing down all of the wonderful aspects of God. While the list may never be complete and still feels awfully small in comparison to His greatness. Below are a few of the things I have written down about who God is. It is listed alphabetically just because that is how I thought to map it out.

Take time today to praise Him, to worship Him, to just be still and know that He is God. He has it all taken care of. He loves you with such an amazing love that is hard to imagine just how great it is because nothing on this earth can compare. Know Him, be with Him, draw near to Him, and love Him!!!

Too many times we falsely accuse God for what we face or what we have gone through when the whole time He is there just wanting to love us, heal us, and be with us. Today take time to begin to dwell and declare how wonder God really is. Feel free to use the above list and allow Him to speak new things to you about His nature.

Defender is only one part of His nature!!!!

Closer

On my journey to become closer and more intimate with God it saddens me to see so many in the body of Christ focus on their purpose and their destiny. They focus on what they are to do, what plans and purposes God has for them. Many become discouraged because maybe they do not have a clear vision of who God has called them to be or maybe their talents are such that places them front and center. We have become somewhat performance based in our thinking instead. Before moving forward I am not saying that having a purpose and a destiny or even seeking those things is wrong. God has also called us to do but I do not believe doing needs to be our first focus. Instead I believe as a body we should put more focus on being. Learning how to become intimate with God, learning how to be with Him, learning how to become united with Him as Paul writes about in Phil 2.

I am discovering that it is from this place of being that purpose and destiny’s are birthed. It is from the place of being that we can go forth and do. It is from a place of being that we discover who God is and all that God really is, it becomes more than just head knowledge it becomes a heart knowledge and a deep understanding within our spirits. It is God’s deep crying out to our deep!!!

This week as I was reading Reckless Devotion by Roland and Heidi Baker there was a paragraph that jumped out at me because I realize that I too can fall into the trap of becoming performance based in my thinking. Many times I feel I am in left field all by myself just wanting to spend time with God and be in His presence especially while everyone else is in right field going, doing, and becoming. I cry out to God and ask what should I be doing, where should I be going, help me see the one in front of me? Witnessing in Walmart is hard for me because I am so task oriented I just see what needs to be done and I do not see the people around me. I call it a good trip if I leave Walmart in peace and do not hit anyone with my cart, yep I push that cart fast and furious! So when I read this days topic I had a light bulb moment and realized I was becoming very performance based in my thinking. It really is okay to be and just be. If you remember back to the garden we were made to be with Him and fellowship with Him. God loves to spend time with us!!!

So here is what Heidi wrote: “Rather than being purpose-driven, I prefer to be presence-centered. All our efforts in God’s Kingdom must originate from the place of rest, the place of His presence. They must flow from the realization that even if we did nothing but sit in a cave and pray for the rest of our lives, He would love us no less than He does now.” (Reckless Devotion, Becoming and Beholding Day 9)

Again as I read this God just seemed to say, it is all right that you just want to spend time with me. That is a good thing and as we become more intimate than I will show you what I would like you to do. While it has been hard, I am learning to just be and not do. God is good to show me where I may get out of balance and help show me ways I need to change.

If you do not understand your purpose or destiny, or what grand plan God may have for you; because Jeremiah 29:11 does say that God has a plan and a purpose for each of us and His plans are good to bring a future and a hope; don’t worry about. Instead learn how to draw close to God because He in turn will draw close to you. Allow Him to speak to you from that place of intimacy and awareness the awesome plans He has for you. Maybe it is just to pray or worship. Maybe He has called you to the mission field or some other purpose. Whatever His plans are for you allow Him to do a work in you that with glorify in all you do. God’s word declares that we have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. So remember God has already given you everything you need to do what He has designed and purposed for you. Allow Him to show you His plans as you draw closer to Him. Allow Him to expand your visions of the two of you together. You will be amazed and undone by what He shows you.

Enjoy Closer by Bethel, allow this song to start you on the path to a closer relationship with our loving amazing God.

This is How I fight My Battles

Worship is not only a lifestyle it is also a weapon we can use to battle the enemy with. Two of our greatest weapons are the word of God and worship. When you worship your focus turns from problem or situation you are facing and it is directed towards the one who is greater.

I read of a testimony of a little boy who was fighting for his life. Many people prayed for this little boy and declared God’s word and promises over him but it was not until people went into his hospital room and just began worshiping God did amazing things start to take place. He was removed from machines that were helping him stay alive and function. The doctors began declaring improvements over this little boy. To me this was a great illustration of how powerful a weapon we have in praise and worship towards our great and loving God. Is the little boy out of the hospital, not yet but he continues to improve so much that soon his battle will be over and he will be back home playing and enjoying life with an amazing testimony of how good God is.

The bible has some great illustrations also on how powerful worship is. Paul and Silas praised God and they were freed from the chains that bound them, Joshua had the people of Israel march around Jericho 7 times and then let out a shout of praise and the walls fell, and Jehoshaphat had the singers go before them into battle and their enemies were defeated.

2 Chronicles 20:21-22 Tree of Life Version (TLV)

21 After consulting with the people, he appointed singers to Adonai praising the splendor of His holiness, as they went out before the army saying,

“Praise Adonai,

`for His mercy endures forever.”

22 As they began singing and praising, Adonai set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir who had come against Judah, and they were defeated.

Worship not only defeats our enemies worship draws us closer to God. Worship takes our eyes off the problem and focuses our attention back to where it should be; on God. We serve the God of the impossible so stop seeing your situation as being impossible for God to handle. God may not always resolve your situation like you think He should but just trust Him because His plan is better. His plan is not for you to be miserable and suffer. God’s plan is for you to live in joy, peace, and love; we just need to learn how to live that lifestyle until we are fully walking in it. Developing a lifestyle of intimacy is a great place to start. If you intimately know someone then you know and understand their love for you and that they are for you. God’s plan from the garden was to spend time with Him, to have a relationship with Him. For Him to love on us and for us to love on Him. If you want to get back to basics then worship is a great place to begin.

How I Fight My Battles by Upper Room Worship is a great song reminding us that we fight our battles through worship. When we feel surrounded we can know we are really surrounded by Him. We can trust Him that He is fighting our battles for us and helping to defeat our enemies.

New Beginnings

I know this is the time of the year everyone reflects back on the year that is ending and we think ahead to how the new year will be different. Sometimes we make the changes but many times we do not, we stay in our old ways and habits.

As I was getting ready this morning for church it dawned on me that I needed to make a change, a change for the better. I had let life and laziness crowd out my time I was spending with God. Oh, I still spent a little time with Him, but it wasn’t the same as it had been in the past. It was almost like I was giving God my leftovers when He deserves my first and best.

Where I Belong by Cory Asbury summed up all that I was feeling and desiring to change. God’s presence needs to be our first focus, that needs to be what we long for, what we desire. That is where we belong. When we are in God’s continual presence then whatever life throws at us doesn’t appear so big, especially when we make the problem stand before our big God. Our Daddy God is bigger than everything life throws our way!!!!

One thing I have discovered helping in sozo ministries and other ministries is that people do not really know who they are in Christ. We do not know the amazing promises God has given us, and we do not really grasp how truly good or God is. We tend to view life’s problems, sicknesses, and situations as being God’s punishment or infliction upon us for whatever reason.

God does discipline those He loves but I do not believe He disciplines us by bringing troubles or sickness upon us. He is too loving and kind to do so. What parent would do that to their children? Not a good one, that much I know, and God is a good, loving, and kind father. If you have incorrectly blamed God for your troubles or sickness, then all you need to do is ask Him for forgiveness and He will be extremely quick to forgive.

So as we end out 2017 and prepare to begin 2018 give God your first and best. I know that quality and not quantity count with Him, if you just have a few minutes when you first wake up in the morning, or even a few minutes of peace when you are in the bathroom, begin to praise Him, begin to love on Him, give Him your day, if you are facing things that are too big for you to bear then ask Him for His strength and help to get you through to the other side. Make time to get back into His word, it is His word that will provide what we need to defeat the enemy. If you don’t know where to start or what to read then Mike Bickle says to just start in the New Testament and read through it. Personally I also incorporate a little psalms and proverbs.

The verse below so greatly sums up all I have been trying to say. Let us begin to do what it says and I believe as we draw near to God He in turn will draw near to us.

Let everyone give all their praise and thanks to the Lord! Here’s why – He’s better than anyone could ever imagine. Yes, He’s always loving and kind, and His faithful love never ends. Ps 107:1 TPT

Joyful Ecstatic Praise

A new song for a new day rises up in me every time I think about how He breaks through for me!  Ecstatic praise pours out of me until everyone hears how God has set me free.  When they hear my anointed praises and the see, many will see His miracles; they’ll stand in awe of god and fall in love with Him!  Psalm 40:3 TPT

Have you ever stopped and thought about what ecstatic praise looks like?  I have!  Ecstatic is defined as a feeling or expressing overwhelming happiness and joyful excitement.  Do we worship God with overwhelming joy?  Excitement?  Happiness?  I know most of my worship is more reverent and quiet but I want to learn this type of worship.  I want to learn how to just let loose and praise God with all that is within me.  I want to do as the above verse says and let ecstatic praise pour out of me until everyone hears how great and wonderful God is and He has set me free!!!

Have you ever seen how people at The Ramp worship?  Just watching the videos wears me out but I think they may have learned how to worship God ecstatically!!!  I want to learn how to do this in the private so it can spill over into the public and then all will know how wonderful and good God is!!!

I jump for joy and burst forth with ecstatic, passionate praise, singing song of what You mean to me. Psalm 28:7b TPT

Let everyone everywhere join in the crescendo of ecstatic praise to Yaheweh!  Hallelujah!  Praise the Lord!  Psalm 150:6 TPT
